AT "Turchina" we cultivate olives of prevalent variety "canines", with a fraction of the varieties "Leccino" and "crusher", the olive grove has about 60 years of age, the soil is rocky, but rich in mineral salts; in compliance with the reg. EEC 2092/91 we struggle against parasites with the "ecotraps", by applying on each plant a sheet that contains ferormons on which the infamous olive "flies" are attracted. The olives are harvested mechanically, brought to the mill and pressed within 24 hours. The labels are affixed by hand by us personally on every package.
Our oil has a decided taste, persistent, with an unmistakable spicy taste, which affects the most demanding palates.

NOTICE: Don’t trust in extra virgin olive oils that cost less than 6 / 7 € per litre, as they can be obtained through the union between pomace refined oils, refined virgin oils, olive oils and only a little portion of extra pure oil, sufficient to give to the final product less than 1gr./100 gr. of Oleic acid free. Unfortunately, from a purely chemical point of view, you can make a kind of this oil, made from oil that is processed with solvents, which give to the final oil such an acid value allowing to consider it between extra oils. It 'obvious that the parameter of law established for the identification of extra olive oil is absolutely inadequate and misleading.
Consumers should be very careful in recognizing the origin of extra oil and reliability of the producer, because, as we are farmers for two centuries, we will ensure that it is impossible to produce pure extra virgin olive oil at such low costs that permit a final price of 2 / 3 € per litre.
The Extra-vergin Oil is the only one who is assimilated and digested by the human body.
